Il Progetto di Restyling

La ricerca è stata il primo passo fondamentale nella stesura di questo progetto unico; ho dovuto studiare a lungo tradizioni e costumi del Corpo che indossava l’Uniforme. Il designer deve mantenere un equilibrio tra l’identità delle tradizioni e l’esigenza di interpretarle in chiave moderna. Solo in questo modo, il nuovo crea continuità con il passato. Una volta entrato nello spirito del Corpo ho iniziato ad apprezzare quei valori che hanno fatto della Guardia di Finanza uno dei Corpi più prestigiosi al mondo: tra questi, la dedizione e la fedeltà agli ideali della Repubblica sono al primo posto.

Molti elementi sono stati ripresi poiché essenziali nel riconoscimento dell’Uniforme: tra essi la ricerca e la fedele riproduzione del colore “bigio”, che è una nuance di grigio che appartiene da secoli alla gdf, ma anche il verde e il giallo che contribuiscono al riconoscimento dell’Uniforme. Partendo da questi colori e identificata l’esatta nuance, è stato molto più semplice incorporarli nel nuovo design.

The Restyling Project

Research was the first basic step in the draft of this unique project; I had to face a long study of the traditions and customs of the Corps wearing the Uniform. A designer should keep the balance between the identity of traditions and the need to interpret them in a modern key. Only in this way, novelty creates continuity with the past. Once I caught the spirit of the Corps, I began to appreciate the values that have made the Guardia di Finanza one of the most prestigious Corps in the world: among these, the dedication and the faithfulness to the ideals of the Italian Republic are pre-eminent.

Many characteristics have been kept because they are the essential identification marks of the Uniform: especially the research and the faithful reproduction of the so called “bigio”, a nuance of grey that has belonged to the Guardia di Finanza for centuries, but also green and yellow which help to recognize the Uniform. Starting from these colours, after finding the exact nuance, it has been simpler to include them in the new design.
